Pennyroyal is flowering plant used in herval tea. It is also used as exterminator, antiseptic, flavoring, food spice, mucus, and disinfectant. The leaf oil has been used to treat ovarian cancer. This plant is sedative and refreshing. Chewing mint and pennyroyal is useful for fixing hiccups and is anticonvulsant and nerves-calming.

Iranian scholars lead by Dr. Mahmoud Rafieian-Kopaei showed that pennyroyal has antidepressant effect. This result is recently published in Bangladesh Journal of Pharmacology.
