The modified hybrid nanofluid is a combination of nanoparticles , and base fluid water with equal volume fraction of and The finite element method based Galerkin weighted residual scheme is chosen to find the solution of the non-dimensional governing equations. The effects of different model factors such as oblique angle and period of the periodic magnetic field, Hartmann number, Rayleigh number, nanoparticles volume fraction on the heat transfer are scrutinized. The outcomes are exhibited with the help of isotherms and average Nusselt number as well. The numerical results show that when the period of the slanted periodic magnetic field increases gradually, the distinct model factors (Rayleigh number, nanoparticles volume fraction, and slanting angle) raise the heat transfer rate progressively, whereas augmentation of the Hartmann number diminutions the entire heat transfer rate.

Jagannath University Journal of Science, Volume 10, Number II, Dec. 2023, pp. 75-86
2024-02-07T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2023 Md Nurul Huda, Md Shariful Alam, S M Chapal Hossain https://banglajol.info/index.php/JnUJSci/article/view/71258 Impact of Rice Husk Ash on the Compaction Characteristics of Soil 2024-01-28T06:22:49+00:00 Najmun Nahar najmun.nahar@geography.jnu.ac.bd Sayful Kabir Khan najmun.nahar@geography.jnu.ac.bd Zakaria Hossain najmun.nahar@geography.jnu.ac.bd
Usually, the measurement of maximum dry density (MDD) and optimum moisture content (OMC) is important for assessing the quality control of the compacted fill or earthwork constructions as the compaction parameters. Rice husk ash (RHA), plentifully available in many rice-producing countries, can be used as a building material. This study mainly tries to investigate the effect of RHA on compaction features of sandy soil classified as A-2-4 or SM for soil stabilization. Nominal to a maximal dosage of RHA addition in the soil was considered for the experiments by the standard Proctor compaction tests. The result revealed that by increasing the amount of RHA in the soil, MDD was reduced and OMC increased significantly. It can be concluded that applying a soil-RHA combination is beneficial to soil improvement.

Jagannath University Journal of Science, Volume 10, Number II, Dec. 2023, pp. 87-93
2024-02-07T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2023 Najmun Nahar, Sayful Kabir Khan, Zakaria Hossain https://banglajol.info/index.php/JnUJSci/article/view/71262 A High-Performance Split Ring Resonator Based Slotted Microstrip Patch Antenna for Fifth Generation Communications 2024-01-28T06:55:37+00:00 Nurul Amin Nahid zulfiker@cse.jnu.ac.bd Md Pias Khan zulfiker@cse.jnu.ac.bd Md Ashik Jiddney zulfiker@cse.jnu.ac.bd Mahbubur Rahman zulfiker@cse.jnu.ac.bd Md Samsuzzaman zulfiker@cse.jnu.ac.bd Md Zulfiker Mahmud zulfiker@cse.jnu.ac.bd
This article presents a split ring resonator (SRR) based slotted microstrip patch antenna for 5G communications. The various local bifurcation types common to one-dimensional maps each have their own specific conditions that must be fulfilled. An object divides into two when it bifurcates. After a bifurcation, a family of one-parameter functions retains its stable or cyclic point structure. A bifurcation in the iterative process happens when a parameter is altered, causing a qualitative change in behavior. The phenomena of local splitting can be induced by adjusting just one parameter. Both the norm form of the transcritical split and the stability of the saddle node are highlighted. As with supercritical and subcritical bifurcations, the stability of the pitchfork bifurcation is assessed, as is its norm form.

Jagannath University Journal of Science, Volume 10, Number II, Dec. 2023, pp. 108-123
2024-02-07T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2023 Md Asraful Islam https://banglajol.info/index.php/JnUJSci/article/view/71264 Effectiveness of Cognitive Behavior Group Therapy in Reducing the Risk of Eating Disorder among University Students 2024-01-28T07:15:26+00:00 Fatema Tu Zohra Binte Zaman zamanfatema@hotmail.com Shahriar Hasan Rakib zamanfatema@hotmail.com
Eating disorders are serious mental illnesses that typically originate during adolescence, often persist over an extended period, and significantly affect one's overall well-being. These disorders contribute significantly to the worldwide health burden. Despite a rising number of individuals seeking treatment for eating disorders, there is limited study regarding the effectiveness of therapy in preventive measures of the risk of eating disorders. Therefore, this research aims to study the effectiveness of cognitive behavior group therapy (CBGT) in reducing the risk of eating disorders among university students. Using a pretest-posttest with a control group design. The adapted Bangla version of the Eating Attitude Test (EAT-26) was utilized and socio-demographic data for all participants at the baseline and post-intervention. Thirty-six participants i.e., university students with a risk of eating disorders were chosen by purposive sampling. Participants were randomly assigned into two groups (intervention and non-intervention groups). However, the experimental (intervention) group (n = 18) received cognitive behavioral group therapy, and the control also known as the non-interventional group (n = 18) did not. To analyze the obtained data descriptive statistics, independent sample t-test, and paired sample t-test were performed. Findings showed that receiving CBGT sessions significantly reduced eating disorder risk in the intervention group. However, there is no difference in the risk of eating disorders in the pre-test and post-test of the non-intervention group was observed. This study's findings emphasize the importance and effectiveness of cognitive behavior group therapy in addressing and mitigating the risk of eating disorders among university students.

Jagannath University Journal of Science, Volume 10, Number II, Dec. 2023, pp. 124−135
2024-02-07T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2023 Fatema-Tu-Zohra Binte Zaman, Shahriar Hasan Rakib https://banglajol.info/index.php/JnUJSci/article/view/71265 Interview Anxiety of Job Applicants in Relation to Age, Gender, and Academic Performance 2024-01-28T07:27:33+00:00 Jannatul Ferdous Proma bijonbaroi@psychology.jnu.ac.bd Bijon Baroi bijonbaroi@psychology.jnu.ac.bd Noor Muhammad bijonbaroi@psychology.jnu.ac.bd
Interview anxiety is a prevalent issue among job applicants. It poses a significant threat to applicants' interview performance. Past studies suggest a substantial gap in the comprehension of the various factors that can influence the anxiety experienced by job applicants during interviews. The goal of this research was to explore the interview anxiety of male and female job applicants in relation to their age and academic performance. A personal information form along with the adapted Bangla version of the Measurement of Anxiety in Selection Interview (MASI) scale was applied to 260 job applicants selected purposively from different public universities in Dhaka city. In the present study, a cross-sectional survey design was employed and data were analyzed by using independent sample t-tests, Pearson product-moment correlation analysis, and stepwise multiple regression analysis. The results of the study indicated that females experience more anxiety in the selection interview than males. For both males and females, there was a positive correlation between age and interview anxiety, and academic performance was negatively correlated with interview anxiety. The results further revealed that, for both males and females, age and academic performance could predict interview anxiety where academic performance was the strongest predictor of interview anxiety. These findings may be useful to employers and human resource professionals concerned with these issues and to raise awareness regarding the interview anxiety of job applicants.

Jagannath University Journal of Science, Volume 10, Number II, Dec. 2023, pp. 136-144
2024-02-07T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2023 Jannatul Ferdous Proma, Bijon Baroi, Noor Muhammad https://banglajol.info/index.php/JnUJSci/article/view/71266 Hydromagnetic Convective Heat Transfer in a Square Cavity Filled with Fe3O4-Water Nanofluid Saturated Porous Medium 2024-01-28T07:46:40+00:00 Md Shariful Alam mnurulhdu1@gmail.com Md Nurul Huda mnurulhdu1@gmail.com S M Chapal Hossain mnurulhdu1@gmail.com
A numerical study is carried out to demonstrate the heat transmission events of nanofluid in a square cavity saturated by aluminum foam porous medium under the effect of slanted periodic magnetic field. The cavity wall is heated from left and cooled from right while horizontal walls are supposed to be adiabatic. The Brownian motion of nanoparticle is taken into consideration in the thermal conductivity model construction. The dimensionless governing equations including Darcy-Brinkman model are solved by Galerkin-FEM. The outcomes are exposed with depictions of streamlines, isotherms and average Nusselt numbers. The numerical investigation is performed for parameters: Darcy number, Rayleigh number, Hartmann number, porosity, leaning angle of the periodic magnetic field, period number, and nanoparticle volume fraction. The heat transfer rate upsurges noticeably for the rise of nanoparticle volume fraction, period number, Darcy number and Rayleigh number but the reverse trend is found for the parameter Hartmann number as well as porosity. From the acquired numerical outcomes, the maximum rate of heat transfer is attained at δ=π/4 when λ = 1.

Jagannath University Journal of Science, Volume 10, Number II, Dec. 2023, pp. 145-158
2024-02-07T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2023 Md Shariful Alam, Md Nurul Huda, S M Chapal Hossain
