About the Journal
Aim and Scope:
Bangladesh Journal of Ultrasonography (BJusg) is the official peer-reviewed journal of The Bangladesh Society of Ultrasonography (BSU). The journal aims to promote the advancement of ultrasonography and related imaging sciences through publication of high quality original research, review articles, case reports, technical notes, short communications, conference abstracts, and letters to editor.
The Journal considers manuscripts prepared in accordance with the guidelines laid down by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors. Br Med J 1988; 296 (401- 405). The scope of the journal includes: diagnostic ultrasonography, doppler ultrasonography, obstetric ultrasonography, prenatal diagnosis, breast imaging, vascular ultrasonography, pelvic imaging, musculoskeletal ultrasonography, ultrasound guided procedures, elastography, etc.
Publication Format and Frequency
BJUltra is published twice in a year by BSU, in June and in December. The journal is available in both print format and digital format online.
BJusg welcomes submissions from researchers worldwide, embracing diverse perspectives that contribute to educational discourse.
Ethical Guidelines
BJusg maintains strict ethical standards to ensure responsible research practices. Authors must certify that their work is original, has not been published elsewhere, and adheres to ethical research principles. Research involving human subjects must comply with recognised ethical protocols, including informed consent and confidentiality protections. Plagiarism, data manipulation, and any form of unethical conduct will result in immediate rejection.
Reviewer Guidelines
Reviewers are requested to:
- Evaluate manuscripts objectively and constructively.
- Assess originality, scientific validity, methodology, ethical compliance, clarity of presentation, and relevance to the journal's scope.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all manuscript contents.
- Avoid using unpublished information obtained through peer review for personal advantage.
- Declare any conflicts of interest that may influence their review.
- Complete reviews within the requested timeframe.
- Provide clear recommendations and constructive suggestions to assist authors in improving their manuscripts.
Reviewers should not communicate directly with authors. All communications should be conducted through the Editorial Office.
Review Process
The Bangladesh Journal of Ultrasonography employs a double-blind peer-review process.
Initial Editorial Assessment
All submissions are screened by the Editor-in-Chief or designated editorial staff to determine suitability, completeness, and compliance with journal requirements.
Peer Review
Suitable manuscripts are sent to at least two independent expert reviewers. The identities of authors and reviewers remain concealed throughout the review process.
Editorial Decision
Based on reviewer recommendations, the Editor may reach one of the following decisions:
• Accept
• Accept with minor revision
• Major revision required
• Reject
- Revision
Authors receiving revision requests must address reviewer comments and submit a revised manuscript within the specified period.
Final Decision
The Editor-in-Chief makes the final publication decision after consideration of reviewer comments and author responses.
The Editor-in-Chief reserves the right to reject manuscripts that fail to meet scientific, ethical, or editorial standards.
Conflict of interest
There is no conflict of interest Authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any financial, professional, institutional, or personal relationships that could influence the interpretation or presentation of research findings.
Authors should include a Conflict of Interest statement in their manuscript. If no conflicts exist, authors should state: “The authors declare no conflict of interest.”
Reviewers and editors who have conflicts of interest with a manuscript must recuse themselves from the review or decision-making process.
Disclosure of conflicts of interest promotes transparency and helps maintain the integrity of the scientific record.
PUBLICATION ETHICS
BJusg is committed to maintaining integrity in scientific publishing. The journal does not tolerate plagiarism, fabrication, falsification of data, duplicate publication, redundant publication, inappropriate authorship practices, or undisclosed conflicts of interest.
When evidence of misconduct is identified, the Editorial Board may investigate the matter and take appropriate actions, including correction, retraction, notification of institutions, or rejection of the manuscript.
Open Access Policy
This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
Article Processing Fees
There are no charges (payment) needed for article submission and publication process.
