General Information
The JCMCTA is published twice a year in June and December. It accepts original papers, case reports, review articles, letters to the editor and short communications related to various branches of medical science for publication. Papers should be solely contributed to the journal. Papers may be submitted to the managing editor at any time.
Manuscripts
Manuscripts should be prepared in accordance with the Vancouver style. Two copies of each paper along with figures, tables, photomicrographs, photographs and the relevant materials should be typed in English on one side of white bond paper of A4 size with margins of at least 2.5 cm, using double space throughout. Text must be additionally submitted in a CD. Rejected manuscript will not be returned. Proof correction by the author will be appreciated. No reprints will be provided.
Declaration
The paper should accompany a declaration form signed by author and coauthors which includes a statement that the paper is not published in any journal nor submitted elsewhere for consideration of publication. The declaration form to be collected from the office of Managing Editor.
Title Page
The title page should include 1) the title of the article, which should be concise but informative 2) authors name, with his or her highest academic degree and institutional affiliation 3) name and address of the author to whom correspondence to be made.
Abstract
It should not be more than 200 words. The abstract should state the purpose of the study, investigations, basic procedures main findings and principal conclusion. Three to ten key words may be provided below the abstract using terms from the Medical Subject headings (Index Medicus, NLM, USA)
Text
The text of observational and experimental articles should be divided into sections with headings: Introduction, Materials and Methods, Result, Discussion and Conclusion. Single digit numbers used in the text should be in words except dates & reference numbers.
Standard abbreviations should be used whenever possible. The full term for which the abbreviations stands followed by the abbreviation in parenthesis should precede the first use of the abbreviation in the text except for standard ones like 37°C 25mg/L etc.
Reference
Reference in the text should be numbered in arabic numerals in smaller superscripts e.g.1.2 consecutively in the order in which they are mentioned in the text.
At the end of an article the full list of references should give the names of all authors followed by title of the article, title of the journal abbreviated according to Index Medicus, the year of publication, the volume number, issue (within parenthesis) and the first and last pages of the article.
Book references should have the name of chapter authors, chapter title, editors, book name, the edition, place of publication, the publisher, the year and the relevant pages.

Tables should be in the Result section and should approximately follow the text reference. AU tables should be numbered consecutively using Roman numerals (e.g. Table I, II). Each must carry a brief heading or legend. Tables should be planned as brief as possible.
Figures/Graphs should be submitted in original and as brief as possible. Figures should be numbered in arabic numerals (e.g. Fig 1,2) followed by the legend on the top or bottom of the figure.
Photographs and Photomicrographs should be printed in black and white glossy paper and must be unmounted, B-2 size, with good contrast. Figure no. and name of 1st author should be written on the back of each photograph marking the top edge.
Letter To The Editor
Communications with reference to an article published in the journal or current health problems of importance will be accepted as letter to the editor.

Bangladesh Journals Online (BanglaJOL) is a member of the Ubiquity Partner Network coordinated by Ubiquity Press. According to the EU definitions, BanglaJOL is the data controller, and Ubiquity Press are the service providers and data processors. Ubiquity Press provide the technical platform and some publishing services to BanglaJOL and operate under the principle of data minimisation where only the minimal amount of personal data that is required to carry out a task is obtained.

We regularly backup our databases, and we use reliable cloud service providers (Amazon, Google Cloud, Linode) to ensure they are kept securely. Backups are regularly rotated and the old data is permanently deleted. We have a clear internal data handling policy, restricting access to the data and backups to key employees only. In case of a data breach, we will report the breach to the affected users, and to the press/journal contacts within 72 hours.
Personal information is only used to deliver the services provided by the publisher. Personal data is not shared externally except for author names, affiliations, emails, and links to ORCiD and social media accounts (if provided) in published articles and books which are displayed as part of the article/book and shared externally to indexes and databases. If a journal operates under open peer review then the reviewer details are published alongside the reviewer details.

In the case that control of data changes to or from Ubiquity Press and a third party, or in the case of change of ownership of Ubiquity Press or of part of the business where the control of personal data is transferred, we will do our best to inform all affected users and present the options.
