Background: Thalassemias are the most common autosomal recessive hemolytic disorder. For survival, most patients require either blood transfusion or bone marrow transplantation and other supportive therapies. It is essential to carry out proper diagnostic and therapeutic approaches and regular follow up.This study aimed to evaluate the current diagnostic protocols and therapeutic approaches used for the management of thalassemia in Chattogram region.
