About the Journal

Focus and Scope

Jagannath University Journal of Psychology (JnUJP) is an international research journal (blind peer reviewed papers) based on the Department of Psychology of Jagannath University, Dhaka 1100, Bangladesh. This journal has been publishing once a year in December as a single volume regularly. The language of the journal must be in English. The journal is a publication outlet of original empirical and theoretical papers, critical reviews, case studies and meta-analyses that are fundamentally related to any aspect of psychology.

The Jagannath University Journal of Psychology (JnUJP) aims to publish innovative theoretical, conceptual and methodological articles that contribute to the knowledge of the human psyche or to the understanding of the field of psychology itself.

The scope of the Jagannath University Journal of Psychology (JnUJP) covers a broad range of fields including, but not limited to:

  • Psychology Behavioral Sciences
  • Clinical Psychology
  • Educational Psychology
  • Industrial and Organizational (I/O) Psychology

Ethics Committee 

The ethics committee has been founded according to the resolution of the Academic Committee from January 11, 2019. The request has to be submitted prior to the respective start of the project.

Review Process

1. Submission of Paper

The correspondence author submits the paper of the journal visa email.

2. Appraisal by the Editor

The editor checks that the paper adheres to the requirements described in the journal’s Author Guidelines. The editor also assesses its scope, originality and merits. The editor may reject the paper at the stage. The approximate required time between submissions to first decision is 15 days.

3. Invitation to Reviewers

The editor sends invitations to the appropriate reviewers-commonly this is 2, but there is some variation due to the availability of the reviewer. Reviewers are requested to send back their review report within the two-week time period.

4. Response to invitations

Potential reviewers consider the invitation against their expertise, conflicts of interest and availability. They then accept of decline the invitation to review.

5. Review is conducted

The reviewer will read the paper, taking noted to build a detailed point-by-point review. The review report is then submitted to the journal, with the reviewer’s recommendation. (e.g. to revise, accept or reject the paper)

6. Journal Evaluates the Reviews

The editor considers all the returned reviews before making a decision.

7. The Decision is Communicated

The editor sends a decision email to the author including any relevant reviewer comments. Comments will be anonymous, as the journals follows double-blind peer review process.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Article Processing Fees

Our journal is free to everyone. Full text of all the contents is always available. There is no article processing charges (APCs) or submission charges. Our readers can copy, distribute, and use their attributed research for non-commercial purpose free of charge. Our journal retains copyright of the articles through a Creative Commons Attribution- NonCommercial-Non Derivatives 4.0 International (CC BY-NC ND 4.0).

Source of Support

Department of Psychology, Jagannath University, Dhaka-1100, Bangladesh bears all the costs of publication of the journal.
