Rajshahi University Journal of Social Science and Business Studies is the official journal of the University of Rajshahi that publishes research articles by faculty members of the University. Contributions to the Journal may be in English or in Bangla and must be previously unpublished articles containing original research that have not been submitted for publication elsewhere. All submissions are subject to peer review and to edition by the Editorial Board. Articles accepted for publication have to be proof-read by contributors who are entitled to 20 copies of off-prints as well as a bound copy of journal in which the article appear. The decision of the Editorial Board regarding publication is final and the copyright of published articles rests with the University of Rajshahi. Letter of Acceptance is given only after an article accepted finally.
Manuscripts submitted for publication must be in three copies, in neat and clear double-spaced typescript or electronic print-out on Letter size (8.5²´11²) white sheets with margins of 1.25² on all sides and pages consecutively numbered. The manuscript should have a title-page with the title of the article and the authors name, designation and contact address. The title should also be placed on the first page of the text of the article. The authors name or anything that may identify the author should not appear anywhere in the text paper. Submissions should be addressed to the Secretary, Rajshahi University Journal of Social Science and Business Studies, Publication Office, University of Rajshahi, Rajshahi 6205.
Notes and references in the text should be placed at the end of the article under the caption Notes and References. Notes should be numbered consecutively in the text in superscript (i.e., one half-line above the text). The note index number should be placed after all punctuation in a sentence, i.e., it should be placed after a comma or semicolon or the concluding full stop of the sentence. The size of the article shall be limited to twenty type-written pages (2500 words).
For articles of Social Sciences and Business Studies, the Chicago University manual of style should be followed. As for example, the word table and the table number, an arabic figure, are centered on a line above the table. The table title shall be centered on the line below the number. Each item in a bibliographical list should begin flush left (with no paragraph indention), all bibliographical material must be typed double space. Authors name in an alphabetical list should be typed as last name first.
In case of books by two of more authors: all the names should appear in inverse order e.g. Dean, John P. and Rosen, Alex. A Manual of Inter group Relations, Chicago: University of Chicago Press, 1955.
Alder, J.H., Schlesinger, E.R., and Westerborg, E. Van. The pattern of United States Import Trade since 1923. New York: Federal Reserved Bank of York, 1952.
Names of Editors, Compilers, Translators
If an editors name is given on the title page of a book, and the book has no single author, the editors name appears first in the footnote, followed by a comma and ed or, for more than one editor, eds. Example- H.H. Rowley, ed., The old Testament and Modern Study, (Oxford: Clarendon Press, 1951) P. 50 or Alexander Dallin et al. edsl., Diversity in International Communism, A Documentary Record 1961-63 (New York: Columbia University Press, 1963) P.24.
Titles of Works issued in microfilm should be given in italics e.g. Abraham Tanbers Spelling Reform in the United States (An Arbor, Mich.: University Microfilms, 1958).
Legal references differ from non-legal references. Only the surname of an author is given. Authors of books and titles of books are given in Caps. and small caps.
