The role of ‘Sandhi’ in Bangla language

Abstract

The present study attends to explore the role of Sandhi' in Bangla language. Of all the Sanskrit linguistic terms which have been taken over by the grammarians, it is sandhi which has been the most widely used and which is the most fully assimilated into European languages. In this article it to be shown that the traditional sandhi' is nothing but the discussion of sound change especially assimilation and vowel harmony.
