About the Journal

Aims and Objectives 

Bangladesh Armed Forces Medical Journal (BAFMJ) is the official journal of the Armed Forces Medical Institute (AFMI). Armed Forces Medical Institute (AFMI) is the premier educational institute of the Army Medical Corps of Bangladesh Army. Immediately after liberation in 1971 to cope with the expansion of Armed Forces and to ensure efficient medical support at all level, it was felt necessary to establish an institute for imparting training to Army Medical Corps, Army Dental Corps and Armed Forces Nursing Services officers and other paramedics on various professional matters. It came into being on 2 January 1976. The ultimate objective is to turn each and every member of AMC, ADC and AFNS into military medical personnel of advanced knowledge and expertise, capable of matching the challenge of handling modern war casualty, as well as peacetime patient care and to impart professional training and run courses for AMC, ADC, AFNS officers and ORS. AFMI is well keeping with the nation building motto of the Government. As a part of its human resource development for the nation and beyond, Nursing Institute of AFMI started conducting BSc (Nursing) and Diploma in Nursing and Midwifery courses to produce nursing staff for national health services.

The aim of the Bangladesh Armed Forces Medical Journal (BAFMJ) is to focuses on the latest methods in health information system and information techniques. The journal publishes informative original articles, reviewers, case reports. It encourages the exchange to new knowledge and ideas to improve the health of patients and the general population.

Review Process 

  1. The manuscript is first reviewed by a reviewer.
  2. After reviewed by reviewer the manuscript will be given to the author for correction given by reviewer (if any).
  3. The Editor in Charge will check whether the author have corrected the correction given by reviewer or not.
  4. After that, the manuscript will be given to an over-viewer for another review.
  5. After reviewed by the over-viewer the manuscript will be given to the author again if there any correction.
  6. Lastly, by analyzing the comments given by the reviewer and over-viewer, the Editorial Board will decide the article is acceptable for publish or not.

Publication Frequency

BAFMJ is published twice in a year (July & December).

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

There is no article-processing fee.
