Bangladesh Journal of Medical Physics considers research papers, scientific notes, conference papers and tutorial papers in the applications of physics, technology and engineering in medicine, written in English. Materials must be original, unpublished work and not under consideration for publication elsewhere. The Editorial Board is responsible for the final acceptance of any paper and reviewed article. Boards decision is final in case of any controversy.
Preparation of manuscripts:
Manuscripts should be typed in MS Word format with the following specifications.
Formatted to A4 paper size
Margin: 1.1 inch (2.80cm) at the top and 1 inch (2.54cm) on all other sides
Font: Times New Roman
Title: ONLY TOP OF THE FIRST PAGE (all capitals, bold, size 14)
Authors Name: Title Case (bold, size 12)
Affiliation with full address for correspondence (normal, size 11)
Email: At least one email (normal, size 10).
Abstract: An abstract of not more than 250 words (normal, size 10).
Keywords: A set of Keywords, up to 6 (normal, size 11)
Short title: with not more than 40 characters including spaces (Italics, size 10).
Main Text:
The text (normal, size 12) should continue on the same page, single column, and arranged in the following sequence (numbered as shown).

The manuscript of a full paper should be limited within 15 typewritten pages including tables, figures, graphs, references, etc while that of scientific notes should not exceed 4 (four) pages. Review article on fairly wide topics of current interest, either invited or agreed upon by the Editor, should have an abstract and should not exceed 20 pages of type-scripts.

These should be embedded within the manuscript at suitable positions. To place the caption at the top of the table, insert a row, merge all the cells in the row, and write the caption inside this. Remove the borders of this caption-row on the top and the two sides. The caption should be preceded by the table no. as Table 1: etc.
References:
Harvard style of referencing is to be followed. (Please note: earlier volumes of Bangladesh J Med Phys followed Vancouver style of referencing which will be replaced by Harvard style from 2013 onwards)
Units and symbols:
Use the metric system and give all laboratory numerical data in SI (Systeme International) units. When other units are unavoidable, use their SI equivalents in brackets.
Submission:
All submissions should be made electronically in MSWORD (.doc or .docx format). Coloured graphs and figures are preferred since they enhance the presentation. The authors are also encouraged to send a pdf copy of the paper which will act as a guide to layout arrangements in case the WORD file changes them.

Bangladesh Journals Online (BanglaJOL) is a member of the Ubiquity Partner Network coordinated by Ubiquity Press. According to the EU definitions, BanglaJOL is the data controller, and Ubiquity Press are the service providers and data processors. Ubiquity Press provide the technical platform and some publishing services to BanglaJOL and operate under the principle of data minimisation where only the minimal amount of personal data that is required to carry out a task is obtained.

We regularly backup our databases, and we use reliable cloud service providers (Amazon, Google Cloud, Linode) to ensure they are kept securely. Backups are regularly rotated and the old data is permanently deleted. We have a clear internal data handling policy, restricting access to the data and backups to key employees only. In case of a data breach, we will report the breach to the affected users, and to the press/journal contacts within 72 hours.
Personal information is only used to deliver the services provided by the publisher. Personal data is not shared externally except for author names, affiliations, emails, and links to ORCiD and social media accounts (if provided) in published articles and books which are displayed as part of the article/book and shared externally to indexes and databases. If a journal operates under open peer review then the reviewer details are published alongside the reviewer details.
